With thirteen consecutive years of juried exhibitions at the Oregon State Fair Fine Arts Department, and multiple top honors including the prestigious Oregon Art Award for his celebrated piece Point Lookout, Richard’s work has consistently captivated judges and audiences alike. His painting The Rose was selected as the cover art for the Oregon Symphony Orchestra’s program featuring world-renowned conductor and violinist Pinchas Zukerman, a testament to the emotional depth and elegance of his style.
Beyond accolades, Richard’s studio stands out for its commitment to giving back. For over six years, he has donated original paintings to benefit the Partnership in Community Living, helping support individuals in need across his community. His active involvement with regional and state art organizations — from Artists in Action Salem to the Highland Art Association in California — reflects a deep connection to both local and broader artistic circles.
